Union Crews Get Work Done Faster - Report Says

"Union contractors are significantly less likely to have delays in completion times due to shortages of workers — and they've actually been more likely to add workers in this tight labor market," Frank Manzo IV, the executive director of ILEPI and co-author of the report, told Insider. OSHA Continues to Cite General Contractors for Subcontractors' Safety Violations

OSHA has been more aggressive about citing general contractors it believes have not taken adequate steps to monitor and police safety practices on their worksites, especially when it comes to fall protection. If the investigator sees the subcontractor’s employees working without adequate fall protection, there is a good chance that both the subcontractor and the general contractor will receive citations. Georgia Set for EV Plant Investments That Could Total $12.5B

Georgia could see more than $12 billion invested in construction of two new auto assembly plants with the expected announcement May 20 by South Korean automaker Hyundai Motor Group that it will build a new electric vehicle factory near Savannah, reportedly valued at $7 billion, coupled with the recent plan announced by startup firm Rivian Automotive Inc. to build a $5 billion electric pick-up truck plant east of Atlanta.
