2021 NFPA 70E PPE Selector Guide Available for Download
The NFPA 70E Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Selector Guide was developed to assist the industry in understanding and applying the provisions found in “NFPA 70E, The Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace." It has been revised to the current 2021 edition of this NFPA standard and provides a simplified approach and understanding to the PPE requirements to help in keeping workers safe.
Maintenance Related Safety Requirements are now included in the standard and is a basis for applying the provisions found in the Table Method for implementing Personal Protective Equipment and Arc Flash Protection.
The guide is available as a downloadable PDF for purchase in the NECA Store.
NECA was proud to join the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), the Edison Electric Institute (EEI), the Utility Workers Union of America, and others in celebrating National Lineworker Appreciation Day on July 10, 2021.
July 10 marked the anniversary of the death of Henry Miller, the first President of the IBEW. Miller was killed in the line of duty, as the head lineman for Potomac Light and Power Company, while trying to restore electricity in the Cleveland Park area of Washington, D.C. This year marks the 125th anniversary of Henry’s passing.
NECA was also proud to support a resolution introduced in the House of Representatives by Rep. Linda Sanchez (D-CA), Rep. Donald Norcross (D-NJ) and Rep. David McKinley (R-WV) recognizing July 10, 2021 as Journeyman Lineworkers Recognition Day.
NECA would like to gather feedback on the newly released LINE CONTRACTOR magazine in order to provide members and industry professionals relevant and engaging material.
