Nonbuilding Construction Starts Grew in January While Others Fell

Electric power and utilities projects drove construction starts in January, while other sectors saw declines, according to the Dodge Construction Network, Boston. Total construction starts expanded 0.7% in January from the prior month to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1.24 trillion, per Dodge Construction Network data.
