NECA Celebrates National Lineman Appreciation Day with #ThankALineman
NECA celebrated National Lineman Appreciation Day through their support displayed on our various social media accounts. Learn more about the importance about this day through the video below.
The safety of all individuals on NECA member projects is of paramount importance. To help individuals better prepare themselves to prevent the spread of COVID-19, NECA has developed the NECA COVID-19 Construction Site Safety Training program.
This on-demand online program is available to all NECA members for free, and to non-members for a modest fee, as part of the Great American Economic Revival Industry Group for Construction/Labor/Workforce guidance to provide a step by step plan to get American workers back on the job.
This course is divided into six modules that will address:
Background on Coronavirus
Controlling the Spread
Owner and General/Electrical Contractor Responsibilities
Personal Protective Equipment and Other Protective Measures
Construction Site Operational Safety Standards and COVID-19 Protocols
State and/or Local Orders and Guidelines
Following completion of the course, participants will complete a short quiz and program survey and obtain a certificate of completion.
Take Action: Tell Your Representatives NECA’s Requests In Phase IV Legislation
On May 15, 2020, the HEROES Act passed in the House of Representatives in a 208-199 vote. This month, the Senate will be releasing their own Phase IV bill and we are optimistic that many NECA-supported provisions will be included in the final legislation. NECA encourages its members to Take Action and voice our industry’s needs to Congress. NECA remains focused on advocating for our electrical contractors throughout this period to ensure our members’ voices are heard.
As the country and our NECA contractors get back to work in stops and starts (or continue along as essential), there are a number of novel issues that need to be addressed by employers. A few areas of concern are the sick leave and testing issues associated with the pandemic.
