This national apprenticeship program prepares aspiring project managers with the technical expertise, leadership skills, and business acumen needed to successfully manage complex electrical construction projects while they continue working full time.

Why Sponsor an Apprentice?

Over 52 weeks, your employee will gain practical, job-ready skills in:

  • Documentation, compliance, and risk management

  • Jobsite safety

Training is learn-by-doing, combining online instruction, on-the-job learning, real-world assignments, and one-on-one coaching. Apprentices apply what they learn directly to your projects, delivering immediate value while building long-term capability.

131 apprentices across 31 states and from 78 NECA contractor companies have successfully completed the Project Management Apprenticeship!

Enrollment Details

Cohorts launch monthly, but contractors should enroll at least 2-3 months before their desired start date to allow enough time for onboarding.

Eligibility: Enrollment must be completed by a NECA contractor company.

       • To qualify, both an apprentice and a supervisor must be identified. 

Cohort sizes: 10-30 apprentices per group.

Cost: $15,000 per apprentice (Financial assistance available through Wesco Cares Credit)
