NFPA 70E Shock and Arc-Flash Risk Assessments
Wednesday, August 5, 2020 | 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM EDT
This webinar will discuss the NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace and will address three electrical hazards including shock, arc flash, and arc blast. NFPA 70E requires shock risk and arc-flash and arc-blast risk assessments to be performed. This information is needed when making determinations related to performing justified energized work. Risk assessments utilize the hierarchy of risk controls and application of processes that assist in determination of required levels of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Risk assessment processes must also include evaluation and assessment of human error possibilities. The requirement to perform risk assessments are clear, yet the standard does not provide specific and direct guidance and direction about how to accomplish it. An important objective of this program is to help attendees be able to take a detailed look at processes that are practical and essential elements of performing required risk assessments and attaining compliance with NFPA 70E.
