Jessica Looman has served as the Acting Administrator of the Wage and Hour Division (WHD) of the U.S. Department of Labor since June 21, 2021. She was appointed as the Principal Deputy Administrator of WHD on January 20, 2021. WHD enforces worker protections and provides outreach and education about federal labor laws including minimum wage, overtime, child labor, and family and medical leave for 148 million workers and nearly 10 million employers nationwide. The Wage and Hour Division is committed to protecting the rights of low-wage, vulnerable workers and is focused on addressing misclassification and retaliation for these workers.

Representative Dan Newhouse

Rep. Dan Newhouse was first elected to Congress in 2014. During his tenure he has been an advocate for strengthening and supporting our registered apprenticeship programs as well as further expanding our workforce. Rep. Newhouse currently serves on the Appropriations committee, focusing his work on the Agriculture, Legislative Branch, Energy and Water subcommittees, he also serves as the Chair of the Congressional Western Caucus and is an active member of the Bipartisan Working Group and the Republican Main Street Partnership.

DC Drops Mask & Vax Requirement!
Beginning February 15, Washington DC no longer requires proof of vaccination in indoor venues. These changes mean attendees of this year's Legislative Conference will not be required to wear masks or show proof of vaccination at the Mandarin Oriental hotel. However, government facilities will still require masks and certain individual establishments in the city may choose to enforce vaccination and masking requirements.
