Today, President Biden has released his COVID-19 action plan which includes an Executive Order mandating COVID-19 vaccinations for all employees of contractors that do business with the federal government. Additionally, the Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is developing a rule that will require all employers with 100 or more employees ensure their workforce is fully vaccinated or require any workers who remain unvaccinated to produce a negative test result on at least a weekly basis.
The policies that come out of this action plan are expected to impact NECA contractors working on federal construction projects, as well as NECA contractors with 100-plus employees.
NECA is awaiting the official language and requirements of the Executive Order and will work with our contractors to provide guidance as this new rule goes into effect.
